Checkerboard is Vans DNA. Inspired by kids drawing checkers on the canvas and sidewall, produced into a canvas print and loved by all – including Jeff Spicoli in the iconic Movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High – where this shoe made it’s cinematic debut. Consisting of the vamp, quarter and heel counter – 18 individual pieces that are sewn, glued and heat treated to create this simple silhouette, that maintains a top style since it’s introduction.
Slip-On Pro features sturdy canvas and suede uppers, single-wrap foxing tape, UltraCush HD sockliners to keep the foot close to the board while providing the highest level of impact cushioning, and Vans original waffle outsoles made of a rubber that offers grip and support. The Slip-On Pro also includes DURACAP reinforcement rubber underlays in high wear areas for unrivaled durability, and Pro Vulc Lite construction to deliver the best in boardfeel, flex, and traction.
Vans has reinvigorated the iconic Classic Slip-On silhouette with comfort technology ComfyCush, giving the Distort ComfyCush Slip-On a first-class fit that feels like walking on a cloud. Featuring a co-molded construction of foam and rubber for the perfect combination of both comfort and grip, the Distort ComfyCush Slip-On also includes rubber outsoles offering durability and traction, as well as new moisture-wicking lining materials throughout the interior of the shoe. With newly constructed suede uppers that focus on tongue stabilization and simplified one-piece interiors with added arch support, the ComfyCush Slip-On gives a retro nod to the Vans sport styles of the early 90s, and provides an experience where comfort is vital.
