The Nokaoi started out as Gerry Lopez's magic board. He traded ideas with Taro until they landed on a shape that lets him draw the smooth lines he's renowned for, whatever the snow is doing. It's an all-round, rider-friendly board, and a great pick for the variable conditions of the Pacific Northwest.
Up front, the nose shape gives you float in powder. A minimal taper keeps the board sharp yet lively, which suits the Hot-Dog riding style. The short camber works like a conventional camber, but both ends finish before the widest points and blend into the nose and tail rockers, so you get far fewer edge catches. Pair that with a relatively low camber height and turns stay smooth and adaptable.
