You want your face covered on the hill, but you also want a snack without wrestling your gear off. That's where the hinge comes in. The face panel folds down whenever you need a snack or a sip, then sits flat under your helmet once it's back up.
Instead of one hole, you get laser micro-airholes across the face panel. Your breath spreads out through them, so it doesn't fog your lenses the way it would through a single opening. The Polar Fleece is a cold-day fabric, suited to roughly −5 to −15°C. It also breathes well and dries fast, and it's one size for heads 50–60 cm.
