Burton's first snowboard jacket came out of a decade when riders had almost nothing to work with, and the 50th 85 Powdershell revives that original Powdershell shape for the brand's fiftieth year. Andy Coghlan and Mark Heingartner rode in the original version, back when snowboarding barely had a foothold on the mountain.
Underneath the retro look sits a 3-layer shell rated 20K for both waterproofing and breathability, with seams taped shut against moisture. A removable hood adjusts coverage as conditions shift, and pit zips vent heat once the riding gets hard.
