Uphill is where this jacket earns its spot in your pack, since the insulation stays breathable while you work. It's a stretchy midweight layer that also handles a cool, windy hike or a ridge top under your shell.
The 20D nylon/spandex fabric carries a water-repellent coating, and the fitted hood has stretch binding at the opening. Stuff the jacket into its left handwarmer pocket and it disappears into a small pack.
