The aluminum heelcup locks the boot in place to cut drag, while the non-stick EVA footbed sheds snow and ice buildup underfoot so nothing packs in on a powder day. Combined with the stiffer 8/10 flex, it's tuned more for driving through variable terrain than for a soft, playful feel.
