Every part of the Union Source FC got the same question: does this need to be here? The mounting disk didn't survive the process, and what's left is a 1.13 KG binding that puts you right on top of the board instead of stacked above it.
The heelcup and highback are both forged carbon, cutting close to half the weight out of parts that are normally aluminum or nylon. Down at the base, the Hi-Flex HP EVA bushing soaks up vibration between the binding and the board so the ride stays smooth without going soft.
